I'm curious about your need to have 2XX responses status codes. Are you serving files? From what I remember, serving files that exists should answer 200.

Hi, sorry I missed your feature request. I think we could detect the [Accept-Encoding](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Headers/Content-Encoding) header and compress on the fly if presents. Are you willing to contribute to goStatic? 🚀
