Uploading a hardware config .json does not trigger a save, maybe?

When uploading the snakeyes hardware config, the UI is reporting success. However, after rebooting right away, the settings page shows no hardware configured.

I was able to sidestep this by moving sliders on a different page after uploading the file, which seemed to trigger a save to sql?

I need to do more investigation, because per this code I'd expect info does indeed get dumped to disk. However, not seeing that happen all the time.
