[BUG] Colours in 1.12-r5 dark theme are too bright for disabled users
Checks
- [x] I have read the FAQ section, searched the open issues, and still think this is a new bug.
Describe the bug you encountered:
For people with highly sensitive vision, bright colours (even on minimum brightness OLED screens) are very uncomfortable to intolerable and viewing them consumes limited cognitive resources. Common in ASD, ME/CFS. With migraine it's often painful, sometimes extremely painful.
Colours that are too bright:
- CheckBox/RadioButton, blue/green
- blue buttons, change database/Unlock/QuickUnlock views
- light blue background, top-right unlock database view
- green icon background and white icon foreground, database/edit entry views — note: the text-colour icons on the left of (edit) entry fields are fine.
- green text, (borderless) button/URL, (edit) entry/dialog/about/password generator views
- green 3-dot menu, entry view
- green underline, Unlock/QuickUnlock views
- green field border, edit entry view
- white background, settings → plugins
P.S. I love the other GUI changes, looks more polished, feels smoother. Great work, Philipp!
Describe what you expected to happen:
See colours that aren't so bright.
What version of Keepass2Android are you using?
1.12-r5
Which version of Android are you on?
Android 14, Samsung OneUI 6.1
are you using the dark or light theme?
Dark theme. Sorry, forgot to repeat in body, it's in issue title. 🙂
ah true, I missed it there :-)
I tried to come up with a low-stimulation theme, but unfortunately it seems hard to control the Material UI colors precisely in some cases. Maybe I'll include it in one of the next pre-releases so you can give it a try, but I'm not 100% convinced that it will work very nicely...
