[BUG] New databases instantly corrupt
Checks
- [x] I have read the FAQ section, searched the open issues, and still think this is a new bug.
Describe the bug you encountered:
- I made a new database using the OEM Keepass 2.x 64-bit Windows application (latest release), saved to my Google Drive. I can open and edit this database in the OEM Keepass application. I cannot open this new, default/unedited database in Keepass2android - I get a notification the database may be corrupted.
The reverse gives trouble too.
- I create a new database using Keepass2android, saved to my Google Drive. I can open and edit this database in Keepass2android. I cannot open this database in the OEM Keepass application, it gives a database corruption error.
Describe what you expected to happen:
Just like in the past, I'd expect flawless operation on both keepass2android and the OEM Keespass application regarding the database.
What version of Keepass2Android are you using?
1.11-r0
Which version of Android are you on?
Android 14 (stock, not rooted)
Some questions:
- Which KeePass 2.x version exactly are you using?
- Are you using a key file or another 2nd factor for the database?
- how exactly are you using Google Drive? Using the built-in support or are you using the GDrive/Android files app?
please reopen when you provider further information.
Which KeePass 2.x version exactly are you using? At the time of writing I used the latest v2.57, which has since been updated to v.2.58.
Are you using a key file or another 2nd factor for the database? No.
how exactly are you using Google Drive? Using the built-in support or are you using the GDrive/Android files app?
- On PC I use the official Google Drive desktop app, for continuous synchronization.
- On android I use the official Google Drive app. There is only one as far as I'm aware.
- In the Keepass2android app (open menu > change database > open file > I tried both "Google Drive" and "Google Drive (KP2A files)", then navigating to the subfolder that contains the keepass database.
I just created a new database with KeePass 2.58 (standard settings for encryption etc.) and could open this with KeePass2Android.
I suggest you try these two things:
- transfer the database in a different way to the phone, e.g. by copying it using a USB cable (or another cloud)
- open the file using a different Android KeePass app.
