[FEAT] recommended Kepaas2Android add function exporting configuration

Open cwlwxr opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

Dear Kepaas2Android Team,

Hello! I am a loyal user of your product and have been using Kepaas2Android for some time, thank you very much for your excellent service.

In the process of using it, I found that Kepaas2Android has not yet added the function of exporting configuration, and I hope to be able to propose this. If the function of exporting configuration can be added to the application, then the user can export his configuration information to a file, so that when changing the mobile phone or resetting the device, the previous configuration can be easily imported into the new device without Again it takes time to configure.

It is believed that the addition of this function will greatly facilitate the user experience, and will also improve the user satisfaction of Kepaas2Android. Thank you for your continuous efforts and support!

Sincerely, salute!

@cwlwxr maybe I'm misunderstanding the request, but in my understanding this is handled by the Android OS, isn't it?

Hi together. I know this is an old issue, but not solved yet. Exporting/Importing the configuration is a needed feature, because not anyone can or will use Google for that.

At least in my case, I don't use Android Backup. I have disabled it completely. I found restoring doesn't work reliable and end often with broken apps or configs. I must learn this by the hard way.

Additionally, there is no way to restore the config of a specific app, without to restore all other apps or restore configs, when I reinstall a app without Photographs reset. I think Android Backup is only a bad working workaround, with only minor features.

I don't care, in which format a app can export/import a config. Maybe some sort of JSON file (unencrypted/cypted) is the easiest way.

I hope someone can add this feature, I don't have the skills for that.
