Inhibit the the saving of the key file in the internal storage
My problem is the following:
I'm using 2FA for my database consisting of a password and a key file. The key file is stored on a private FTP server. My idea behind this is that, if I ever lose my phone, I can simply delete the key file from my server and thus the database can not be unlocked from my phone - even if the password is known. I simulated this by trying to unlock the database with my phone disconnected from the internet. K2A indeed shows me an error message that the key file is not accessible, however it still unlocks the database telling me that the key file from the internal storage has been used instead. Now this - in my eyes - destroys a bit the concept of 2FA. Is it possible to tell K2A NOT to make an internal copy of the key file?
Help / feedback / updates are very much appreciated!
Cheers!
Have you tried disabling the options in the Options menu relating to the key file? There's at least one option under Security>Save Key File.
Thanks for your reply! The detailed description for the "Save Key File" option says that this will make KeePass remember the location of the key file. This is actually useful for me since I want KP to remember the path to my key file on my FTP server. However, the file should not be saved locally on my phone.
