invalid composite key

Open Ayzekel opened this issue 5 years ago • 4 comments

Hello, I can't log in to my database on my smartphone. I have a password+key file. I always logged in to the database this way, and since today it has stopped logging in, and the error "invalid composite key"appears. Tell me what to do.

have you tried to open the local backup of the file?

I had a similar problem, for me it seemed to be... well, I don't actually know. But I found a way to fix it.

No local versions worked for me, neither did downloading KeePassDX (alternate app on Adroid).

I have the database on Google Drive, and I could see that it was not syncing (modified date was a week ago, and I had modified it today).

This coincided with the Google Drive app (for macOS) wanting to change something with locations, due to new macOS guidelines. I think that resulted in the macOS KeePassXC app using the wrong database for a week or so (explaining why latest change to Google Drive version of database was a week ago).

After closing the macOS app, deleting the "offline" version, and re-enabling the "offline" version of the database, and then manually choosing the (verified correct after moving location) version of the database in the new location for Google Drive files (location can be seen in Google Drive App -> Preferences -> Google Drive -> Settigns (cogwheel i top right corner, and under the Google Drive streaming location section)), I could see in the Google Drive app on my phone that it now synced the newest version, and after that it worked (also in KeePassDX).

Whether this is a permanent fix, I do not (yet) know.

Update: this was not a permanent fix. Issue returns after closing the database again (without modifying database)
