Show availability of films on Netflix, Amazon, iTunes

I think the user mainly wants to effortlessly play films on their watchlist. He/she should have the choice to legally stream them. Since it takes some time to figure out where a film is available, this could be done automatically.

Add options to config to search streaming services of choice. Add option for region/country (used for choosing the store). Add option to not download film if it is found on a streaming service. Add options to filter for original language / dubbed version.

This deviates from the narrow original propose of the app, but I very much welcome these changes. Are there sources to check availability?

Netflix seems to have closed off its API (maybe getting search results is possible with username+pw?). Only very few services still have access. One of them: http://www.canistream.it (also includes many more streaming services)

Just Netflix: http://instantwatcher.com

Everything but Netflix: https://api.guidebox.com

Any update on this?

Letterboxd added this as a feature in their Watchlist, if you have an account you can filter by availability. The data seems to come from GoWatchIt and their API might be worth looking into: https://gowatchit.docs.apiary.io/
