What's the current approach? AggregatingMergeTree or GraphiteMergeTree?

I'm interested in helping implement this.

I saw in the README the note about https://github.com/yandex/ClickHouse/issues/167 simplifying the downsampling implementation?

That was closed and released as of v18.12.14 apparently - 10 days ago :)
