@echeng7 I've given you access to the Bulk Data Upload wizard. This will allow you to check the data files you are creating to make sure they are in the correct format and that all the needed meta-data is present.

To use the wizard, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Google Spreadsheet document showing yield data, and click on the tab for the data table you want to check.
  2. In the GoogleDocs Spreadsheet menu, click on menu item File, go down to the Download as sub-menu item, and select Comma-separated values (.csv, current sheet). Clicking this will download the table in CSV format to your computer.
  3. Log on to www.betydb.org.
  4. Click the Bulk Upload menu item at the top right of the page.
  5. On the New Bulk Upload page, click the Choose File button and find the file you just downloaded to your computer and select it.
  6. Click the Upload and validate file >> button.

At this point should should see all of the data in your file displayed, and any errors will be highlighted. You can mouse-over a highlighted entry to see what the problem is with it.

We would like you to start using this for two reasons:

  1. It will (I hope) eliminate some of the back-and-forth we currently have to go through to get the data into the proper form for upload.
  2. You can provide us valuable feedback on the way the Bulk Upload feature works--what isn't clear, what is hard to use about it, etc. Please don't hesitate to ask us any questions you may have!

Also, if you haven't done this already, you might want to read the Bulk Upload guide here: https://www.authorea.com/users/5574/articles/6800/_show_article#article-paragraph-bulk__space__upload__dot__tex (I am in the process of revising this, but I welcome any feedback you may wish to give.)
