TF2 Not Open? You can't see stuff now!
I do not like this. I like to take screenshots of fun little conversations I have had in TF2 (which I can screenshot easily using the bot detector chat square), or go to people's profiles. Now if I don't have tf2 open I can't do any of this. Why? I find this very annoying.
That behavior is mostly to (try to) idiot-proof the tool. I'll see about adding something so you can view chat history more easily, since I agree that is a very useful aspect of the tool.
You could add a "Reduced Functionality Mode" once the game process has been terminated.
Ingame settings (Enable Chat Warning, ...) would be disabled yet the main settings, chat, scoreboard, rules/playerlist count and log would be accessible.
You could even add buttons to relaunch the game from the main window, generate a log file (without using the File menu) and save the chat history.

This would also allow for automatic log merging between, say, TF2 crashes, as you would just keep the log handle open and continue using it if the game crashes instead of closing normally (which is a status you can check, as TF2 spawns as a child process of the bot detector.)
#129 could be a pathway to dealing with this
