I'm sure you've already done this, but make sure every instance of Path of Building is closed in Task Manager before starting it again. It may be getting stuck when updating if other instances are open.

Outside of that, try these steps:

  1. Close PoB
  2. Edit the /runtime/SimpleGraphic/SimpleGraphic.cfg file and change the first line to set con_log "1".
  3. Restart PoB and you should see a SimpleGraphic.log file in that same folder from above. Then you can upload that log file here and hope it contains the error

What version of Windows/operating system are you all on?

Wires77 avatar Jun 14 '25 13:06 Wires77

Windows 10

I am on Windows 10 latest version. However, I (used) to run PoB on an old work laptop next to my main screens, which is fine with Windows 10 but unfortunately, has an old Nvidia Quadro graphics card in it, with drivers that are no longer updated.

After finding some old PoB installers and testing, it looks like the change from SimpleGraphics 2.1 to 2.2 has made the OpenGL stop working on my old card, RIP. No idea if that is the same of the other people in this issue of course.

All of you:

  1. What model CPU?
  2. Are you over-clocking/under-volting your CPU?

i5-4570 - no over or under clocking
