Reporting Cost Estimates of Parts Inventory

Open CyberTeckyLLC opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Greetings,

Part-DB is running nicely for my small business, however, I am having difficulty associating the 'quantity' of my personal inventory with each component/part estimated value. I have quite a large inventory of new and recycled electronic components that I would like to reuse and would like to quantify a total value for in Part-DB.

Example. If I have a QTY = 8 in personal inventory and the estimate VALUE = 0.62 USD each, then: QTY x VALUE = TOTAL (e.g., 8 x 0.62 USB = $4.96)

So far, I've created the USD entry under the 'Currencies' section, however, as stated before, I'm not sure how to tally the total value of my inventory. Again, this is my personal inventory and NOT a distributor cost estimate. Overall, I just need to track each individual part cost estimate and tally the total of all of the accumulated parts, maybe have it shown on a Part-DB start page or something? Part-DB does well quantifying parts both individual and total values, so I would believe Part-DB can do the same for cost estimates, right?

Any assistance you could provide will be much appreciated...

Thank you!

This is a report I'd like too.

I previously used Partsbox.com to track components. When adding a batch of components you get the option of entering the price for each, for the entire lot, or no price (useful for recycled/surplus stock). On their Report menu you can get a nice set of totals; for their commercial plans you can also do a per-storage location breakdown.
