Touches up Meta Engineering, Engineering-Related Maintenance, and Remaps Atmos
What Does This PR Do
All areas
- All engineering areas' cameras have now been connected to the "Engineering" camera network.
- Many floor decals have been deleted. When everything is covered in hazard markings, they lose their meaning.
- All APCs in engineering areas now have deliberately exposed terminals marked by a border, for a more exposed-guts feel that engineering should have. Exception for the CE office, which is to be presentable.
- Locked doors have had their lock varedits removed. They now use lock helpers.
- Removed wallbump conflicts where I have noticed them.
Atmos
- Completely remaps the main atmos area with new spaced-out pipes that allow much more freedom for atmos projects, as well as simply being able to reroute gasses around if the turbine is in use without having to use stupidly complex workarounds. The atmos is much larger now, but still has full camera coverage and lighting.
- Atmos now has a bank of 5 thermomachines (matching BoxStation).
- The Distro Loop room now has 2 thermomachines for regulating the temperature of distro, and one thermomachine for regulating the waste pipe (as on Delta and Emerald).
- The axe has been moved to the atmos main control room, along with the atmos lockers and emergency shower.
- All the atmos canisters in the main tanks are now anchored.
- Inactive pumps varedited to be active have been replaced with active pumps (and vice versa).
- The turbine is slightly bigger and has been repiped to match other stations' turbines.
- Atmospherics lockdown now shutters the windows, as on BoxStation. Atmos remains accessable/escapable during lockdown via the maintenance exit (also as on BoxStation).
Space Outside atmos
- Replaced the 3 layers of reinforced walls with grilles on top of them with a single layer of reinforced wall surrounded by grilles, broken into multiple sections.
- Remapped the various bits of catwalk and lattice connecting the AI sat to the station.
- Added some extra collision beacons showing the path of turbine disposals.
- Added a full catwalk from the AI sat to the station, placed an incomplete power cable on it so that it is somewhat easier to wire up the satellite to the main grid in the event it is required (a feature present on other stations).
Engineering
- Remapped the engineering control room to be more spacious.
- Remapped the engineering break room to be more spacious.
- Engineering equipment storage now has shelving units for neater storage.
- The AI minisat transit tube room is now bigger.
- The AI minisat transit tube lockdown now seals the windows. It is still escapable via the airlock or the transit tube if one is already inside the room.
- Engineering Secure Storage now has a door control button next to the door. It has been slightly expanded and the contents rearranged so everything is easier to access.
- The Supermatter Laser Room now has full camera coverage.
- Holopads have been added to the supermatter room so the AI hologram or crew holograms can manifest to make it easier for them to offer guidance to engineers working on the engine.
- Tables of equipment have been added to the supermatter chamber, same contents as the BoxStation supermatter tables.
- Added a garbage can to the supermatter chamber.
- Engineering lockdown now seals off most of the exits to the engine room. It is still escapable via the maintenance door in the supermatter freezer room.
Maintenance
- All maintenance areas now have air alarms, fire alarms, vents, scrubbers, and firelocks.
- Fore Starboard Maintenance has been split into Fore Starboard Secondary Maintenance to the right of the gravity generator.
- Made the fore starboard maintenance external airlock bigger, swapped its access from engineering + atmos to external airlock access, as it's in publically accessible maint. The gravity generator, PTL, and atmos checkpoint nearby have been expanded.
- The solar array control room has been given missing air alarm and fire alarm. The array itself has been moved around a bit and the protective grating and lattice slightly remapped.
- Removed the random CO2 can and gas dump system. Added an extra room full of beer and used cigarettes.
- Engineering Escape Pod Maintenance has been slightly elongated and now has a camera inside.
Why It's Good For The Game
- The affected areas were in need of some touchups.
- Meta atmospherics is currently uniquely awful due to its extremely cramped space and constricted pipe layout.
- Engineering cameras should be part of the engineering network.
- The addition of atmospheric equipment and firelocks to maintenance is an ongoing project to make our stations better suited to the realities of MILLA 2.
- Decal spam is bad.

Testing
- Became AI, checked for full camera coverage in desired areas, saw all.
- Checked lighting was satisfactory.
- Pulled fire alarms to check all firedoors worked.
- Cycled atmos in maints.
- Admired the new atmos.
- Cycled the external airlock.

Changelog
:cl: tweak: Remapped Meta atmos, enlarging it greatly. tweak: Added firelocks, vents, scrubbers, air alarms, and fire alarms to Meta maintenance adjacent to Engineering and Atmos. tweak: Enlarged the Meta Gravity generator and PTL rooms. tweak: Repiped the Meta turbine. tweak: All Meta engineering cameras are now part of the "Engineering" camera network. /:cl:
Fire alarms and firelocks in maintenance is funny.
Fire alarms and firelocks in maintenance is funny.
It's part of the new package. Rooms without firealarms get fucky wucky when a fire alarm is triggered, which can be done by air alarms.
Plus firedoors are needed to make MILLA 2 not eat all the air.
I love it. Fixes so many problems. And makes atmos way better.
