GNOME sound test icons are gray (hence low contrast) as opposed to adwaita icons

GNOME sound test icons are gray (hence low contrast) as opposed to adwaita icons. Compare in screenshots:

Native (adwaita icons): sound-test-adwaita

Papirus icons: sound-test-papirus

These are not Adwaita icons, these are built-in icons.

There is a bug with them. The built-in icons act like symbolic icons (adapt color to GTK theme), but when I put the same icons to the icon theme they are start acting like normal icons, even when I added -symbolic suffix:

I can't remove the "gray" icons on your screenshot, to force using the built-ins, because GNOME < 44 still used them. I can add the monochrome icons, but I can't force them to act like the native.
