Item "plop" animation does not play in some scenarios
Expected behavior
(Singleplayer Behavior)
When an item is being picked up in your inventory, and the inventory closes, the item will go into the hotbar, and play an animation while doing so.
Observed/Actual behavior
On singleplayer this works fine but on servers this doesn't play at all.

This isn't really specific to paper servers but rather any server. But it should be a good thing to fix regardless.
Can reproduce, this is probably in the end caused by the poor inventory packet management that spigot has. Like resending the inventory when unnecessary, etc.
In general, this issue is a big hard to tackle, and in general, is quite a small thing too.
I tested this on a Vanilla Server & it still occurs so it's not a Spigot issue

The issue still occurs on vanilla you mean? I’m confused here.
Hmm okay, if you can perhaps find a vanilla bug report/made one and comment it here that would be great! Just make sure ur on vanilla single player/multiplayer.
