Trident is not a ThrowableProjectile at all, you can't set rendering item of it.

The way that this issue has been (minimally) worded is quite confusing at first glance, it reads like you're reporting that Trident isn't a subinterface but it should be.

This seems more like a case of Trident not adhering 100% to the javadocs for get/setItem, the implementations for those are still useful since it controls the item that'll be picked up after the trident lands. This could just be fixed with a trivial javadocs update.
