Ground Plane for Android

Open Marlenfranto opened this issue 1 year ago • 6 comments

I want to develop a native Android application that detects a ground plane and places AR objects onto it. Could you guide me on how to achieve this?

@Marlenfranto thanks for the feedback. Have you looked at this documentation? If yes could you please clarify what step is missing?

For general Native Android app lifecycle please check our Native Samples

@ptc-emaggio, I'm new to AR and currently looking for a step-by-step guide or an example app for Ground Plane, similar to the Image Targets in the Native Samples. I've reviewed the Ground Plane API Overview but couldn't figure out exactly where to implement the code. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

@Marlenfranto we do not provide this level of assistance here. Note that the native SDK is meant for experienced app developers. If you are starting with AR I would recommend to use Unity. Our Unity Sample already shows how to create a ground plane experience.

@ptc-emaggio, is it possible to access an older version of the Vuforia Engine?

@Marlenfranto no it is not. We do not maintain older versions. Do you have a good reason to use an older version?

@ptc-emaggio,I came across an old document online that explains how to use the Ground Plane feature, but it references Vuforia Engine version 9.1.7. I haven't been able to find that version anywhere online.
