PCI-Crackdown for Hong Kong protests

Open towashington opened this issue 4 years ago • 0 comments

The year 2019 has seen a series of oft-violent protests in Hong Kong that have spurred speculation of a Tiananmen-like, military crackdown on the protesters by the Chinese government.

The quarterly PCI-China indicator is not suitable for making a near-term prediction of whether and when such a crackdown will take place. However, @ctszkin and @towashington have created another PCI algorithm—the PCI-Crackdown for Hong Kong protests—that predicts, on a day-to-day basis, when such an event may occur.

Those who are interested in this new project are welcome to check out the PCI-Crackdown repository and learn more on the PCI's project website.
