getIndex not present on various clases?

$index = $paragraph->getIndex();
$infoBlock->setActiveParagraph($index);

getIndex(), is not there, nor anywhere else I tried to look for it.

How can I get index for given object? Or anything else for that matter (AFAIK only slides have getIndex in PHPPresentation class)
