[BUG]: Transformers (2004) (American Version) - Bad Interlacing
Describe the Bug
the game is using the wrong interlacing mode or it just, doesnt work at all
Reproduction Steps
Automatic Interlacing its hard to take a screenshot of this but there are lines EVERYWHERE when you move, open this in fullscreen as its hard to see as the compression hides just how bad this is
Manual Interlacing (Blend Top Field First)
it kinda feels like a fake motion blur effect, i feel like this does feel closer to how it felt on the actual ps2 for me but, the image quality is not as clear so i guess this is not what most people expect the game to look like, but its a half fix if u want to get rid of those horrible lines just to play the game
anyway its broken, if you play the game you will see its not working properly at all, its like theres a "sauna" or summer haze effect going on constantly
this is a note for random ppl who just want to play the game, but u can fix the bluriness a bit by setting the internal resolution to 6x and it looks sharper, also maybe u can slap one of those fancy fake frames thingies and it should look gucci at a fake 60 fps
edit: oh nvm it runs like ass lol
Expected Behavior
i wish it didnt look like the graphics got ran over by a car tire

can i have a gs dump?
can i have a gs dump?
i need a step by step guide for idiots because i dont know how, some ppl say u have to push ctrl + f8 or shift + ctrl + f8 but nothing happens my game just looks bad and i have no idea what to enable in these settings, i checked some random wiki and there were no step by step instructions
i checked the giant wall of text in a new issue and i didnt see anything (and tbh i was too lazy to read all of that stuff)
i really wish there was just a button in the Help menu that just automates all of this, like two buttons, with some preset default settings, one that takes a single dump of like, the game only once and one that records it like a video and it could ask you for how long to record, then boom open a folder where the dump was saved, this is too janky and complicated
this is too technical atm, i shouldnt have to spend all day googling how to do this and not finding any solutions, cuz im kinda busy and lazy and i want to do other things instead xDD, i think most ppl are like me and they probably just want to post the problem and move on, idk this really needs to be streamlined, so the next time u can just go, "click on Help, select Dump and upload the file" or something
uh okay apparently there IS a button but, its super hidden? i barely noticed it before because there are TOO MANY OPTIONS
i changed my mind, just make an extra menu that literally says "Dump" and just add two buttons for a single and multi frame dump (and also open the folder automatically where it was stores)
oh and you cant upload the .gs file directly so YOU HAVE TO COMPRESS IT INTO AN ARCHIVE, why doesnt pcsx2 do that on its own
UGHHH

u guys need to streamline this its kinda ass atm xD, i dont even know if the dump works but whatever
You can't have a menu item for a multi frame dump, it's dependant on the time you hold down your finger, and a menu is way too slow
There is the buttons you mentions, or you can change them if you go in to the controller settings, then hotkeys

eh??? just, make a countdown flash on the screen, like 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, so i have time to select the game or pick up my controller, start recording the dump, then show a timer that counts down on the UI, so i can like, move around and do crap, you can already overlay the speed up arrow icon on top of the emulator and have like, UI to show when a game is even saving to the memory card, it should be no problem to do this?
like literally here's step by step how i would design this very easily
- select "Dump, Multi Dump" from the title bar menu
- ask for how long to record
- focus the main game window and flash a countdown
- 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...
- the player moves around and does crap
- there's a timer on screen that shows up that goes 00:05, 00:04, 00:03, 00:02, 00:01
- when it reaches 00:00 stop dumping, save the dump, archive it as a .zip file, open the folder where the dump was saved
- even show the folder where the dump was saved just like u do when u show that the memory card was saved
this is just bad user interface design, like what do u mean its too slow xDDD, this makes no sense sorry, the current system is just bad, i think u guys are too used to the jank but this is awful
That's video recording not gs dumping.
That's video recording not gs dumping.
i dont get why it cant be done the way i said it? the current way is too jank, just simulate the key presses yourself i dont care but this is blah atm, like idk maybe my explanation was too vague i dont know, anyway i also think it would be easy to just make the dumps automatically be archived
cuz firefox crashed for me when i tried to select other file formats from the file drop and like, this is too technical and complicated atm, the skill level required to even report a bug is INSANELY HIGH, like idk this needs to be easier, maybe im crazy and im the only one who sees this as a huge design flaw xD
If you started a multiframe dump through the menu, by the time you get back to click it again to stop it, the dump will be several gigabytes in size, having a hotkey so you can hold it down for 100ms or something (just a few frames) is much more efficient. There's nothing jank about the current way, you're just not used to it, it's not supposed to be an easy to use every day function, it's a debugging tool. If you don't like Shift + Ctrl + F8, change it to something else, I have it set to the letter P, it's not difficult.
The game looks fine here in motion.
