[BUG]: Manhunt 2 (SLUS-21613) Transparent Rectangle in the Top-Left Corner & Low Performance
Describe the Bug
A transparent rectangle can be seen in the top-left corner of the screen in Manhunt 2. I've noticed something similar in some bug reports in other games while browsing through the repo (notably the infamous green rectangle in the PS2 demo of Underground 2), but here it's just transparent.
Performance also seems to be poor in this game currently, at least in Vulkan at 3x resolution. No more than 25fps game speed in the starting area alone, and the controls feel quite wonky and unresponsive as a result. The boot up sequence is also quite slow (the memory card screen doesn't even go past 6fps (Game speed) for me lol. That's... entirely unprecedented. This is also considerably worse than both the PSP version of the game and the original Manhunt).
The good news is, at least the game doesn't seem to crash shortly after starting a new session anymore. In fact, I was hoping to report a crash here initially, but it looks like that got ironed out since... around the time of the summer, I think?
Reproduction Steps
Just start a new game and observe the rectangle in the top-left corner of the screen. It's always there.
Expected Behavior
No rectangle, and better performance (haven't tried Software to see how it fares in that regard).

can i have a gs dump
looks like a shuffle which works incorrectly as per #1318
Can you report it in the issue I linked above, please.
sorry, I already added it in that report, I can't capture it in gs dump
Then can you not spam other issues please? Thanks.
I have just tried the game on the latest nightly build, I am not seeing this rectangle. I have tried different renderers, and differents settings and can't get it to appear. I have seen the rectangle before on a nightly build but that was a month ago. Was this an inadvertent fix?
Sorry I am not a coder or debugger, just thought I'd bring this to your attention.
If you need more info, please let me know.
the top left corner rectangle is usually sign of a shuffle being missed, it's possible that has changed behaviour now as I did modify detection in a way, but I wouldn't expect it to be fixed.
Can you have a further look around to see if it appears? a GS dump of the issue would be very useful
I will play some more in the week to see if I can get it to appear. For now, I will attach this:
Manhunt 2_SLES-54819_20240623211402.gs.zip
Is that was you needed?
I tried on kingkong first scene on the boat, it seems solved but only on software render, problem is present in hardware render.
