External DAC audio doesn't resume after suspend

If you suspend by holding the menu button, on resume the External DAC is no longer being fed audio data. Unplugging the DAC or simply power-cycling it doesn't help. Any combination of removing and replacing the connections to the external DAC doesn't resolve the issue. Returning to the menu and going back in to the emulator doesn't help. Only a full power cycle of the ESP32 fixes the issue.
