Yeah, the installation process is not atomic and it does not establish locks so it is totally possible to get into a weird state if installing multiple instances of chrome...
Which npm version do you use? I wonder if npm is expected to detect parallel installs and only install the specific package version once since it usually maintains the shared...

In short, yes, it is planned. The timeframe depends on the spec change in https://github.com/w3c/webdriver-bidi/pull/1011 landing and the support being available in Firefox. cc @juliandescottes @sadym-chromium
@abarreau someone needs to implement it in Puppeteer. Puppeteer is currently pinned to the stable Firefox 145.
