Did you check this guide? https://github.com/OpherV/gitflow4idea/blob/develop/GITFLOW_VERSION.md Ran into the same problem a few minutes ago but the plugin hints you into the right direction

gitflow-avh is archived repository

https://github.com/CJ-Systems/gitflow-cjs is maintained, but version is incompatible with this plugin
