Country Identification in locations resource

Regarding the locations response the id of a location is returned. From this could one extract the UIC code?

For example: 008500010 for Basel SBB "85" being UIC code for Switzerland.

However there are cases were location id does not follow this pattern such as: 000000168 for Basel.

Could country code be considered in the response or an option specified in the request to return only locations of specific country?

Unfortunately there's no filter or field available on fahrplan.sbb.ch that I'm aware of which would cover this.
