Tap-Windows Adapter not work Windows 10
Description of the bug is available on the link https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/ticket/592
Nothing yet on this? I am having sporadic problems with the driver on Windows 10 ever since build 1511. The published workarounds on your website (http://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/wiki/ManagingWindowsTAPDrivers) do not work. It would be nice to have either a workaround or a fixed driver.
I get the same problem here, after one week hitting my head on the wall, I discovered that problem appeared in machines that was upgraded to Windows 10 and before that VirtualBox was installed.
Ok, so why Virtualbox? =x
When install VirtualBox he also include the VirtualBox NDIS6 Bridged Networking Driver, and for some reason this driver generates a conflict on TAP installation, after uninstall VirtualBox an try again the TAP driver problem was vanished.
I tried to simulate this issue in fresh installations of Windows 10 with VirtualBox, but the problem doesn't ocurred, only when installed VirtualBox on Windows 7 and upgraded to Windows 10.
In my case this occured with the NDIS6 driver of VirtualBox, but searching on google for related problems, I found a lot of issues caused by Kaspersky as mentioned in the community link posted by @billionaire, because the antivirus install a NDIS6 driver like VirtualBox.
Well, that is it. I hope that my headache in find this solution could help someone xD.
I've just created a ticket regarding of driver issue in windows 10. Please have a look at https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/ticket/780#ticket
For me, Hyper V was the problem. Uninstalled Hyper V, install Tap driver, re-install Hyper V and all good.
Also working in VM with Windows 8.1, but not working on physical machine with Windows 8.1
