Ability to directly upload to Fitness Trackers (Specifically, custom FitTrackee)

Open Firesphere opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

When I want to put my rides in to FitTrackee, I need a GPX file from somewhere.

This process is quite cumbersome.

Describe the solution you'd like

Either:

  • Ability to upload directly from the app to FitTrackee

Current options to export (to Android device file system):

  • Automatic post-recording export
  • Share track functionality
  • Export via settings (all in one or all individually)

How AAT is doing by providing an Android data source would be interesting.

Anyhow, the upload functionality must be done by another application like Nextcloud or Syncthing.

Ahhhh, the automatic post-recording would solve about half of my problem 👍

I may have not explained myself clearly, but the problem is that to get the GPX, I had to do the following steps:

  • Open app
  • Find ride
  • Share
  • Select how to share
  • Go to computer
  • Download from Signal
  • Upload in to FitTrackee

The auto-export makes the steps:

  • Go to FitTrackee
  • Upload from auto-export folder
  • Done

Much better!

Part of the problem here, I think, is a lack of clarity on how the app exactly works, and how it can be used for things like this :)
