Clip deletion when I move it around the timeline?

Open tposepyro opened this issue 2 months ago • 6 comments

Describe the bug: When I try to cut or drag a clip in this specific project, the clips become a different length than intended or disappear entirely.

I just installed new drivers for my computer, and the most recent daily build for OpenShot after ver. 3.1. (or 3.2. ?) stopped having synced audio for me.

Steps to reproduce the behavior: unable to reproduce :(

Expected behavior: Clips are supposed to cut and move around the timeline as intended.

System Details:

  • OpenShot 3.4.0 | 0.5.0
  • Windows 11 24H2

Hello @tposepyro

Please confirm the following:

  1. OpenShot version. Start OpenShot, click on Help | About Openshot. If you think you are running the latest v3.4.0-Release-Candidate, then all you have to do is Right click anywhere on the "About OpenShot" screen and then click on "Copy Version Info". If that doesn't work for you then just manually provide the OpenShot-v3.x.x.-something-build#-something.....

  2. OP says "When I try to cut or drag a clip in this specific project.....". I have two follow up questions regarding the "Cut or Drag" part.

Testing in Windows 11 Pro 24H2 with v3.4.0-Release-Candidate-... build #14693

Scenario 01 - This is working fine for me. a. Start a new project, import several video and static image files. b. drag them onto a track. c. DO NOT YET perform any cutting/slicing. Drag the video and image clips and all is good.

Scenario 02 - I am able to reproduce this. a. Start a new project and import several video and static image files. b. Drg them onto a track. c. Select a video file and slice it (position the playhead in the middle of the video, right click on the Playhead and select Slice All | Keep both sides). d. Now shift the 2nd part of the clip and note the change of the size and eventually disappearing completely.

  1. Another follow up question regarding your statement: "When I try to cut or drag a clip in this specific project....". When you say "...in this specific project....", do you mean it happens only in this one project or are you able to reproduce it in other projects as well?

Note: I am able to reproduce the issue in existing projects and new ones.

I am going to ignore the fact that you can not reproduce it since I can. However, I would like you to follow the steps I provided (Scenario 01 and 02). I would like you to go to openshot.org/download/#daily and get the latest v3.4.0-Release-Candidate-14693-... so that we are comparying apples to apples.

For now, please revert back to v3.4.0-R-14688 until the issue has been resolved.

Thanks for the reply! Don't know if it's of use now, but it was only when on one specific project file, even after restarting the program and reopening the file. I created a new project (although I only imported one clip) and I didn't have a problem. I was on version 14693

PLEASE NOTE: In the video, when the clips come back, its because I'm pressing ctrl+z to undo. If I don't press anything, the clips stay removed.
