Fail to load video clipp in .AppImage if unsupported by HW accel

Open siefkenj opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

I am using OpenShot-v3.1.1-dev-daily-11909-a9e34a9b-8e9d7edc-x86_64.AppImage. When Performance > Linux VDPAU is selected, the clip fails to load with an error message sample_960x540.mp4 is not a valid video, audio, or image file.. In the console an error No Reader has been initialized for this Clip. Call Reader(*reader) before calling this method. is displayed.

Setting Performance > CPU allows the clip to load (and play).

It would be nice if when a clip that cannot be played with HW accel is encountered, openshot falls back to software rendering and continues to load the clip.

Hardware acceleration is broken across all platforms. This is a known and documented issue to be resolved in a future release. No ETA at this time.
