Hello @borrico. Sorry to see that you are having issues with openshot. Please try this:
- Close Openshot if running.
- Make a backup of c:\users\username.openshot_qt folder.
- Delete c:\users\username.openshot_qt folder.
- Start Openshot. Do not open any project at this time.
- Import the Video file into Openshot.
- Drag it to a Track. Did this work or did openshot crash again?
- If if crashed, start Openshot.
- Import a different video file or image file and drag it onto a track. did openshot crash again?
- If yes, then do this: a. Start Openshot. b. go to Edit | Preferences | Debug and check the box for "Debug Mode (Verbose)". c. Close Openshot. d. Delete c:\users\username.openshot_qt folder. e. Start Openshot f. Perform importing of a video file and drag it onto a track. g. After Openshot crashes please share these two files:
- c:\users\username.openshot_qt\libopenshot.log
- c:\users\username.openshot_qt\openshot-qt.log
While you do this it will be worth it to ensure that you have all of the Microsoft Windows Updates applied. Make sure you have plenty of disk space. Make sure to restart you computer and try Openshot (import & drag) again.
