Please download the latest DEV Daily Build from openshot.org/download/#daily. Install it and give it a try. Let us know if the problem persists and we can continue troubleshooting.
I have this same issue on 3.0.0+dfsg2+1633+202302152247~ubuntu22.04.1 and a few builds prior as well. This did not happen on the Windows build when I first noticed it occurring and assume it is limited to the Linux builds.
Any time I move a clip after using the Razor tool or Ruler->Slice All they do appear in the new location on the timeline but continue to playback at their original spot and exporting to a video is the same.
Hell @alnedey Are you running the latest DEV Daily AppIMage? I am unable to replicate this issue in my Ubuntu 22.04 virtual environment using the latest DEV daily build.
Hi @Colorjet3 I was using the package from the daily PPA ppa:openshot.developers/libopenshot-daily
I am still unable to reproduce this issue. Please confirm the build # for me (Help | About Openshot).
I just uninstalled and re-installed from the PPA again. Also confirmed that bug to make sure it's still there.
Help->About shows Version 3.0.0 libopenshot: 0.3.0
The package version is: 3.0.0+dfsg2+1633+202302152247~ubuntu22.04.1
Perhaps the Ubuntu package is not building the correct latest build?
Hello @alnedey. I still need you to confirm the build # when you perform the Help | About Openshot. Right below the Version: 3.0.0 and liboopenshot: 0.3.0 you will see another line that says Openshot-v3.0.0-daily-11058-xxxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxx and a build date: 2023-02-15.
If you don't see ...daily-11058 then you are not running the latest DEV Daily build.
Here is the link for the PPA installation: https://www.openshot.org/ppa/. Don't run the "Stable PPA". Please run the "Daily PPA".
If after executing the "Daily PPA", you are still not getting build #11058, then we need to figure that out to see what the issue issue is.
To avoid all this you can also go to openshot.org/download/#daily and download the latest DEV Daily build #11058 (as of this writing) and download the AppImage and run that.
Hi @Colorjet3, I don't see anything like build info below "Version: 3.0.0 and liboopenshot: 0.3.0". The immediate section below is the "Create & edit amazing videos and movies!" line.
I added the repository via: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:openshot.developers/libopenshot-daily and followed the steps from the PPA installation page you linked.
Thank you @alnedey. I just checked my notes and you are correct in that if you install Openshot via the PPA, then it does not display the Build #. I've had this discussion with the Lead developer and there is a reason for this but I don't remember the technical issue with it.
I was able to replicate this issue in Ubuntu 22.04 LTS using this installation process: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:openshot.developers/libopenshot-daily sudo apt update sudo apt install openshot-qt python3-openshot.
However, when I downloaded the AppImage, the problem no longer was repeatable.
Please try the AppImage and let me know if it resolves the issue in your environment also.
Hello @212009078. Please go to openshot.org/download/#daily and download the latest DEV Daily Build and give this a try. Please confirm either way.
