With Openshot 1.4.3 I was able to extract a single frame from a clip in the timeline with ctrl+D. Now, how I can get the same in Openshot 2.4.1?

I don't think OpenShot has that feature as of yet, in the 2.x series. I use VLC to extract frames, for now. I hope the feature will be ported to OpenShot 2.x soon.

@sciamano69 - This feature will be added in a future version. You cannot do this currently. Check back on the project later this year and perhaps we will have that feature in place. Thanks.

Any update on this? It's specifically why I downloaded Openshot. Key mappings in the docs don't show this functionality.

@TheEditor - The feature is present in the latest OpenShot. Use the button on the bottom right corner of this screenshot:

Can we define a custom image resolution ? Because the default option alters the initial resolution of the frame...

to answer to my question, it goes like this : Edit-->preferences-->Profiles(tab)-->Default Profile Select the desired resolution and restart application. Frame is exported accordingly.

This method of exporting a frame has jpeg artefacts.

Hello @boltex. Please articulate a bit more on what you are saying as I am not quite understanding the issue.

No response from OP.

@Colorjet3 When exporting single frames, Unless the source files had visible compression artefact included, the png filetype it writes to should not introduce visible jpeg artefact. Unless the single frame being generated goes through some lossy compression of some sort, of course. (But i did not expect it.)

Thank you @boltex for the additional details. I have pinged the lead developer for his review.
