More useful sort types for homepage & Maps page

We could make the default sort much more useful than just "Latest first".

For the homepage it makes sense to show "Latest first" but I think it would be much better for new players to the maps page defaulting to "Downloads" / "Views" sorts. We could even try some new sort types e.g.:

Download rate: Downloads / Views

Popular: Downloads * Rating

Thoughts? I'm more familiar with Flask but would be keen to have a crack if there's interest.
