I actually think I want to add a web page to the OpenPrinting site under /cups for this, and then we can point people there...

I'll call it "https://openprinting.github.io/cups/drivers.html".

Sounds good to me. Once “https://openprinting.github.io/cups/drivers.html” is live, I can update the warnings/templates to link there instead of the GitHub issue. Just let me know when the page is ready and if there’s any particular wording you’d like in the references.
