Add NIRS and Motion modalities to search

Open effigies opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

What would you like to see added?

While we may not have landing pages for the NIRS and Motion modalities, it would be good to add them so they can be searched for. Probably behavioral data as well.

We can rely on the schema here (objects.modalities):

Do you have any interest in helping implement the feature?

@effigies , I thought the issue I am having is relevant to this thread.

https://openneuro.org/datasets/ds005935 has nirs as the modality, however it does not show up when nirs selected as the browsing modality: https://openneuro.org/search/modality/nirs?query=%7B%22modality_selected%22%3A%22NIRS%22%7D In fact only three studies show up. Same goes for my other datasets.

Hmm. Looks like some are tagged "NIRS" and some "nirs".

  • https://openneuro.org/search/modality/nirs
  • https://openneuro.org/search/modality/nirs?query={"modality_selected"%3A"NIRS"}
  • https://openneuro.org/search/modality/nirs?query={"modality_selected"%3A"nirs"}

Also related to this: Not sure how the "keywords search" works but also the search results for NIRS (and also for fNIRS, nirs etc) does not give the relevant results at the top (and not sure if they are somewhere among the 542 found datasets). In this case the first entry is NIRS but the 2nd, 3rd are MEG for instance (among the 542 datasets).

Hi,

I would really like to see motion as a search modality. But to be honest, so far there is only one study with motion data on OpenNeuro (https://openneuro.org/datasets/ds005258).

There is a new initiative to convert datasets that contain motion data but are not shared by the "new" Motion-BIDS extension. So hopefully more motion datasets will follow in the future.

If there is anything specific I can help with, please let me know.
