Condition of Conditional Packages

Open kamlam opened this issue 6 years ago • 2 comments

Issue statement: The condition for a Pac is already specified in the <<Cond>> stereotype. Do we still need the constraints and shown in the UML diagram?

Reference: See Figure 7.5 in section 7.4 "Use of Conditional Packages" of the UML Modeling Guidelines (https://wiki.opennetworking.org/download/attachments/371294213/Draft_TR-514_UML_Modeling_Guidelines_v1.3.01.docx?version=2&modificationDate=1543499919000&api=v2)

2019.10.04 IISOMI Discussion:

  • Concluded that <Cond> and the Constraint are duplicating the definition. Should need only one.
  • Constraint is visiable in the class diagram. <Cond: : Condition> is not visiable in the class diagram.
  • In addition, the machine readable OCL construct can be used in both cases.
  • In the call, the discussion prefer using the <Cond> stereotype. Final decision is still open pending on the opinion of the other stakeholders.
