Question: What happened to ibmsfj-based images?
The last openliberty version that was packaged with ibmsfj was 19.0.0.9. What was the reason for discontinuing this?
hey @five-iron - we received a large amount of feedback that the IBM SFJ imagers based on UBI min did not have sufficient serviceability tools, and the lack of yum made it harder for migrating from RHEL.
Hey, thanks for the quick response.
Would there be any chance of bringing them back? Image size is very important on our team and the super-slim ibmsfj base images were critical for quick builds and deployments.
We are considering that option. For your team, what is the Java layer that would be most helpful to pair with UBI min? FOr example one option is AdoptOpenJDK 11 + OpenJ9.
