Allow me to disable app drawer animation

Open LivInTheLookingGlass opened this issue 5 years ago • 7 comments

The new app drawer animation is really weird. It makes everything feel significantly slower, even when I turn animation speed up to 100. Can you please give us the option to either return to the old animation or to disable it entirely?

For me setting Animation speed to 100 feels instant on mi8 phone.

+1 on this.

Where do you change the animation speed? In developer options or am I missing an OpenLauncher option?

Edit: Found it in the "Appearance" option menu in the OpenLauncher settings.

I was thinking of removing this animation and reverting back to the old method, just need to get around to it.

It may stay as long as it's configurable I think.

Thanks @Catfriend1 @jacobbaungard, setting it to 100 removed the delay and it opens instantly again.

I do agree it opens instantly when setting the animation speed to 100. However, when the animation speed is faster than approx 80, a ghost shadow of the previous screen's icons stays for 1 second or so, which is not quite expected. Now, it may be associated to the speed of my device.
