Unable to uninstall or get info on an app when home screen widget lock is enabled

Open Bernie opened this issue 7 years ago • 1 comments

General information

  • App version: 0.5.8(alpha)
  • Android Version: 7.1.1

Expected result

What is expected? When I long press an app icon from the application drawer, I expect to see a sub menu offering options to view info on the app or to uninstall the app. This menu is expected, unconditional of any state in which the home screen may be in.

What does happen instead? If the home screen is "locked" (the icon on the top right is enabled when in the home screen edit view), then long presses on any icon in the app drawer has no affect. No options appear to either uninstall or to view the info of an app.

In order to uninstall or view info of an app when the widgets are locked, one has to unlock widgets first before opening the app drawer and long pressing on the app.

Steps to reproduce

  • Long press on an open space in the home screen to bring up the home screen edit mode.
  • Press on the lock icon on the top right to lock widgets (skip if already locked).
  • Open app drawer.
  • Long press on an app in the app drawer.
  • Notice that no action occurs.
  • Repeat first 2 steps, but unlock widgets instead of locking them.
  • Open app drawer.
  • Long press on an app in the app drawer.
  • Notice that now options to uninstall and obtain info on the app become available.

Confirmed this behavior on Android 8.1.0 as well. App version 0.6.1
