Typo - Chp 11, Sec 11.1.2, permutation test footnote
-
Chapter number: 11
-
Section number: 11.1.2
-
Other location identifier, if any (e.g., figure number, table number, footnote number, etc.): Line 213 in 11-foundations-randomization.Rmd
-
Original text:
The test procedure we employ in this section is sometimes referred to as a **permutation test**. The difference between the two is how the explanatory variable was assigned. Permutation tests are used for observational studies, where the explanatory variable was not randomly assigned.
-
Suggestion for corrected text:
The test procedure we employ in this section is sometimes referred to as a **randomization test**. If the explanatory variable had not been randomly assigned, as in an observational study, the procedure would be referred to as a **permutation test**.
-
Justification for suggestion: The procedure employed in this section is actually a randomization test since the study is a randomized experiment.
