Foscam C1 with OpenIPC problem with WiFi

Hi,

I managed to upload the OpenIPC FW to a foscam C1. The SoC is a Hi3518eV100 and the wifi SoC is a MT7601. Well, to be honest, few things work without problems but the main issue is the WiFi. It doesn't seem to detect the onboard WiFi. Is there any way apart from dmesg to see if the WiFi is detected and how I can load a driver ?

Some wifi modules require them to be enabled specifically enabled. Do you have a multimeter by any chance?

Yes I do have and some soldering/desoldering skills and electronics knowledge.

ok perfect. First step would be to find the VCC pin of the wifi module and check if you have a voltage. If so, we can look in to the drivers (which you'll need access to the cameras console via serial for). If you have telegram, by the way, the OpenIPC group is pretty active and you can get help a lot quicker and easier share photos, logs and get input from others who may have had similar issues

OK thanks for the reply. Right now I face another problem. Trying to test different firmware I was soldering/desoldering the SPI flash many times and finally I managed to break one pin of the SPI IC. Now I have to find another one in order to continue my tests. I will subscribe to the telegram channel as per your suggestion and ask help there. Thanks again for your support.

I have similar problem with noname camera with Hi3518eV100 lite image. wlan adapter is getting power and is seen with lsusb as "148f:7601". Lite image doesn't seem to contain driver for that.

Stock kernel prints at boot: Wifi type is mt7601 and has module named "mt7601Usta.ko"
