Pi 3b Expanded Map Menu

On the pi3b we get artifacting around the menu on the left when the map is in the large/expanded view. One user reported the app crashed when selecting a button in those artifacts.

That whole menu could be redone to be more user friendly. There is difficulty eliminating the artifacts as they only appear on a pi3b and thus we wont really know we ahve fixed the problem until we build the app for the pi.
