Does fastp remove primer sequences for aplicon sequencing results?

Hello, I've been going through the documentation and trying to find options for primer trimming. I am unsure whether the adapter trimming option could also trim primers.

Another thing I noticed is that the adapter sequence only takes ATGC but could not recognize other letters. For example, if I am using the following primers, is the program also able to trim the sequence?

Forward: 5’-GGWACWGGWTGAACWGTWTAYCCYCC-3’ Reverse: 5’-TAIACYTCIGGRTGICCRAARAAYCA-3’
