Wind turbine modeling problem

Dear Professor jjonkman,

I have a question about openfast that I would like to ask you.

In openfast, how do I modify the location of the connection point between the wind turbine tower and the floating platform? I have observed that the calculation examples provided are basically in the center position, but in fact, there are some barge-type wind turbines whose towers are not in the center position of the floating platform, how should I modify them? If you can give me some methods and suggestions, I would be very grateful. Thank you!

OpenFAST does support the modeling of floating offshore wind turbine where the tower is not placed in the center of the floating substructure. See my answers to similar questions discussed on our forum:
