"Extreme Event Scenario" as a new term in the OEO
Description of the issue
The recent years have been dramatically shaped by extreme events such as COVID and the Ukraine war. This has also led to an uptake of this topic by energy scientists. Currently, there is no decriptive term for scenarios that investigate the potential impact on the energy system and its transformation.
Ideas of solution
Add a subcategory "Extreme Event Scenario" under "Explorative Scenario".
*"An extreme event scenario is an explorative scenario that investigates the impact of extreme events such as conflict, force of nature, supply chain disruption or other unforeseen events on the energy system and the energy transition."
Workflow checklist
- [X] I discussed the issue with someone else than me before working on a solution
- [X] I already read the latest version of the workflow for this repository
- [X] The goal of this ontology is clear to me
I am aware that
- [X] every entry in the ontology should have a definition
- [X] classes should arise from concepts rather than from words
From todays oeo-dev meeting no. 107: FYI @f-innatech
- Proposal:
- Remove examples from definition and add them as a comment:
- An extreme event scenario is an explorative scenario that investigates the impact of extreme events or other unforeseen events on the energy system and the energy transition.
- rdfs:comment: "Extreme events could be, e.g. conflict, force of nature, supply chain disruption."
- Alternative label: black swan scenario
- "system disruptive event scenario"? - a subclass? What about extremely positive scenarios?
- Check Risk ontology (Greta Adamo): is there something that we could reuse?
