add OPEX to the OEO

Open madbkr opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Description of the issue

As mentioned in https://github.com/OpenEnergyPlatform/ontology/issues/1968 OPEX is a term used in a definition in the new tasks module. Since this not a trivial concept I would like it to be added to the OEO.

Ideas of solution

I crafted a first idea for a definition: Ongoing operational expenditures (OPEX) are costs for day-to-day operations (e.g. rent, wages) of a company not including whatever value is actually produced by said company. OPEX would be an alternative label.

Workflow checklist

  • [ ] I discussed the issue with someone else than me before working on a solution
  • [x] I already read the latest version of the workflow for this repository
  • [x] The goal of this ontology is clear to me

I am aware that

  • [x] every entry in the ontology should have a definition
  • [x] classes should arise from concepts rather than from words

Ongoing operational expenditures (OPEX) are costs for day-to-day operations (e.g. rent, wages) of a company not including whatever value is actually produced by said company.

I think is reasonable to remove the examples in the parenthesis and add them with their appropriate annotation property.

Are OPEX always relative to a company or does it make sense to generalize it more (Agent?, Organisation?) Wouldn't it make more sense to make OPEX about a project, because a company can have opex in multiple projects that are independent of each other

this was part of a discussion in oeo-dev no 99 but without final results.
