The Open Energy Ontology – Overview:
fĂĽhrt auf die OEO Klasse 275 (zumindest auf meinem IPad)
In the section How do I get started? both links How to participate in the OEO and Full Documentation on the OEO have the same target: https://github.com/OpenEnergyPlatform/ontology/wiki/Welcome!-How-to-participate
Become a member of the [Open Energy Family Organisation] (https://github.com/orgs/OpenEnergyPlatform/people).
I would expect some Information on how to join the GitHub group of the OE Family instead of a listing of the group
A link to Tutorial 02 probably do it.
There are first the links to tools (Git and Protégé) and only after comes the explanation. I would prefer a structure like this
OEO development takes place on GitHub and uses tools like git and protégé. Here you can build up or refresh your knowledge on these tools (external links):
Also, is there a reason for the colons (:) after the links?
The learning targets of this course are quite broad and not fully met from my point of view.
- It would make sense to me to have a standalone tutorial on "what is an ontology and what is it good for and why do we develop the oeo", as an introduction for all who haven't worked with ontologies yet.
- The target group might be broader, researchers in the energy area and policy makers
- The topic occurs several times in the linked information, but only shortly and it is not collected at one place nor answered satisfyingly in this tutorial, from my perspective.
- It would also make sense to have a tutorial /section on "how can I use the oeo in my energy system analysis daily life", linking/describing to our use cases and potential future applications.
- The contribution to the oeo should be the second or third tutorial of a series because it requires the previous information.
- target group would especially be researchers from the energy (system) domain, maybe ontology developers from other domains
- the current "how do I get started" section should come after "what different ways of contribution are there". It is important for those who want to really develop. The heading is misleading in my view.
- The "What different ways of contribution..." section needs a better structure, like "way 1", "way 2", ...
- Probably this would also be the place for alle the detailed information on the OEO
I like this proposal of split this topic in two or three parts.
The course for contributors/developers should contain a section with skills to be learned:
- BFO basics
- Pizza Tutorial, including Protege basics, owl
- github and git
- Paper on Ontology development
- OEO introdutory paper
- OEO wiki
We currently have interested beta testers for such a course. Who would be in charge to create/rework the course @han-f ?
I have a slide set for BFO basics I could share. Where would be the best place to put it?
I changed the title. this was a mistake. I will redo!
