Problems using SCHISM native reader

Hello,

I am trying to run simulations using the native current outputs of the SCHISM model. For this I use reader_schism_native. After some problems adjusting the dates the model runs and does the simulation, but the trajectories I get are very strange, with all particles moving following almost parallel trajectories (figure 1 attached).

Besides, if I use the same velocity field interpolated on a regular grid and the reader reader_netCDF_CF_generic I get very different trajectories (and more reasonable considering the dynamics of the study region; figure 2).

I have made several tests with different dates and simulated periods and I always get the same results. The trajectories using reader_schism_native appear almost parallel, always in the same direction.

I would appreciate any help or idea of what could be the problem?
