Turning Bluetooth speaker on/off exits the app

Open shanedk opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

The Issue

When I'm playing Odysee video, and I turn on a Bluetooth speaker, or I'm already listening through the speaker and turn it off, the Odysee app exits. When I pull it back up, I have to browse back to the video to start again. (The video does resume playing from the point it stopped.) This is on a Pixel 4a with all updates applied.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Watch Odysee video
  2. Turn on Bluetooth speaker
  3. Observe that Odysee exits

Or:

  1. Watch Odysee video through Bluetooth speaker
  2. Turn speaker off
  3. Observe that Odysee exits

Expected behaviour

Video should keep playing, perhaps with a momentary pause, playing through with either the phone speakers or the Bluetooth speaker as appropriate

Actual behaviour

The Odysee app exits

Hi, @shanedk. I tried to reproduce your bug report, but I was unable.

There are two editions of Odysee Android. One is the one currently on the Play Store and another one is this one, which is not yet ready to be published. They are different in the way they don't share a single line of code.

Maybe the one where you are experiencing your issue is the one currently on the Play Store? Its version is much newer than 0.0.16 -the one it is used on the app in this repository, the native one-. You could check the version by long-pressing the app icon on the launcher. If it is not there, try opening the app settings after long-pressing the icon.

It's both with the one on the Play Store and the one on F-Droid.

Ok. Then this issue should be transfered to odysee-android-floss as it is not about this repository. I am unable to perform the transfer.

Thanks for reporting the issue, anyway.
